Design new MEP systems for 28,000 sf addition and MEP upgrades for existing 28,000 sf school complexThe Memorial Elementary School was a one-story red brick structure constructed in the 1950’s with additions built in 1963-64. The new addition has approximately double the size of the existing 28,000 sf building with a new gymnasium, cafeteria, media center and eight new classrooms. The entire building is air conditioned.The project required design of renovations for the existing school and the new addition meeting the requirements of the Aircraft Noise Abatement Program sponsored by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. A&J designed upgrades to existing electrical mechanical and plumbing systems and new systems for the addition. Besides the new air conditioning system, existing HVAC upgrades include new two 100 Ton cooling and 1.6 million Btu/Hr heating Gas Fired Absorbers and new Plumbing, and new Fire Protection, new Fire Alarm, Telecommunications and energy management/control systems. |
